In these times, intentionally curating a pause for yourself can make the space to reground, and return to baseline.

Hummingbird Haven, situated in the rolling hills of eastern Ontario, near the tumbling Black river and 300 acres of field and forest provides a place to allow nature to work her magic on you!

This off-grid experience intentionally supports a detox from modern distraction and invites a recalibration to nature’s rhythms.

Hummingbird Haven is a fully offgrid, 10 x 16 (cozy!) bunkie. She lives beneath the basswood treeline in a private field overlooking mixed-wood forests, just a short jaunt to the Black River. With kms of hiking trails, swim spots and endless wildlife to spot, you may find the barrier between you and the wild to be delightfully thin.

HH is equipped with a small kitchenette for cooking, fresh well water for drinking and a luxurious outhouse for… well ;). Half of the season we have outdoor showers available for use. Other features include a loft sleeping space, wood stove and a fire-pit conveniently located under the stars for your viewing pleasure.

Newer to nature connection and ecotherapy? Have a particular life challenge or longing you’re looking for support with? Craving to be held in a container for your own self-exploration? This is the option for you. The ecotherapy retreat includes a fully furnished stay at the Hummingbird Haven, access to the hiking trails at Black River Farm as well as daily customized eco-therapy sessions. These sessions are designed to support: a) a deepening connection and awareness of the nature world and/or b) support to work with a current life-challenge through nature connection practices, soulwork, and counselling. Nature Connection Hermitage —

We’ve all felt it, the tension between our best intentions to move through the world from our grounded core, and then, reality. In many traditions from across the globe people have recognized the importance of leaving the known for a sojourn into the natural world. Call it creative, call it spiritual, call it a weekend away from the to do list. Hummingbird Haven is set up for you to feed your senses and your spirit with potent reflections from the land. This self-guided offering is for creatives, seekers, or those intrigued by nature connection. It includes access to the fully furnished bunkie, hiking trails and sauna. Your host won’t be far away if you need some support.
